Who

Pincushion Creative is where warmth, nostalgia, and handmade craftsmanship come together. Founded by Tara, Pincushion is a love letter to crafting — the kind of brand that feels like baking at Grandma’s, finding the perfect vintage Martha Stewart book at the thrift store, or curling up under a quilt that’s been passed down for generations. Every piece she makes is designed to bring comfort, beauty, and creativity into everyday life.

From the start, Tara had an incredibly strong vision for how she wanted her brand to look and feel — classic but fresh, traditional but not stuffy, a little Cape Cod, a little European countryside, and a whole lot of heart. Her mood board was next-level dreamy, and I immediately got what she was going for. My job? To take the vision in her head and turn it into a cohesive brand identity that felt just as personal and thoughtful as her work.

What

Because Tara already had such a clear idea of what she wanted, this project was all about getting the details just right — refining colors, typography, and motifs until everything felt perfectly in place. We pulled inspiration straight from her favorite things: gingham, trellis patterns, dainty florals, the cozy-yet-elevated aesthetic of a Nancy Meyers movie. I wanted the brand to feel classic and timeless but still warm, inviting, and a little bit playful — something that could just as easily belong in a beautiful old home as it could on a freshly wrapped package of one of Tara’s handmade pieces.

We brought this vision to life through The Visionary, my three-week brand design sprint designed for people who already know what they want their brand to feel like, but need a designer to translate that vision into something tangible and polished. What I love most about this project is how personal it feels — Pincushion Creative is so deeply Tara, and my role was simply to give her the structure and cohesion to bring it to life.
